Skillful—what does that mean?

Current Position: 
Vice President, Marketing and Member Experience
Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN)
CRN is the leading trade association for the dietary supplement industry. My progressively advanced roles at the association over the years have allowed me to grow as a strategic communicator. In my current position, I lead in marketing strategy and execution as well as overseeing development of content and communications platforms, with a focus on enhancing the experience and engagement of our dietary supplement industry executive members. I am also a regular creator, contributor, and editor.

– Publishing 2020 annual report “Essential,” celebrating the contributions of the dietary supplement industry to Americans’ health and wellness 
– Increasing readership of the “CRN Daily Supplement” member newsletter, to ensure stakeholder awareness of the association’s advocacy efforts and educational opportunities
 Innovating member engagement, launching “CRN Connect” mobile app, supported by self-service web portal to help drive committee membership and participation
– Producing “4 Things to Know…” video series on industry hot topics
– Leading design and web development of award-winning “Label Wise” consumer education campaign on changes to the Supplement Facts label and general label literacy, contributed to content
– Increasing participation in key industry-wide transparency initiative, the “Supplement OWL” label database, with B2B advertising campaign 
– Advocating for SNAP recipients to be able to use their benefits to purchase a multivitamin-mineral supplement
– Promoting CBD’s regulation as a dietary supplement via CRN’s virtual lobby day, the “2020 Supplement Advocacy Send-In” 
– Earning Digital Marketing Circuit Certificate from General Assembly

Media Relations Refresher:

I completed the Public Relations Society of America’s live online 2-day class “Secrets of Media Relations Masters” in October 2020 to refresh my skills in this area along with the follow-up “Crafting The Perfect Pitch” 4-module workshop.

Background:

As a senior member of CRN’s Communications team, I lead the association’s efforts to educate a broad range of stakeholders on CRN priority initiatives via videos, graphics, bylined articles, paid campaigns, and more.  I’ve worked for CRN since 1999, including as a consultant from 2007–2013 during which time I also provided communications services for other clients.
